Beyond the competition, LISSIN 2026 highlighted the capacity of young people to develop innovative responses to real environmental and community challenges when provided with opportunities, mentorship, and platforms for meaningful participation.

The final pitching and presentation also underscored the importance of sustained support from local leaders, schools, partners, and stakeholders. BM Amin Hataman shared words of encouragement with the participating innovators following their presentations, emphasizing the importance of continuing to develop their ideas and using their skills to contribute to the community.

The City Government of Isabela, through LYDO, extends its appreciation to all participating students, schools, advisers, coaches, judges, partners, and stakeholders who contributed to the successful implementation of LISSIN 2026.

LISSIN 2026 goes beyond recognizing winners. It aims to provide a continuing platform where youth-led environmental innovations can be nurtured, strengthened, and potentially developed into practical solutions that can benefit local communities.

The initiative forms part of the EUโ€“Philippines Green Economy Partnership, funded by the European Union in the Philippines under the EUโ€™s Global Gateway initiative and spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to support a green, just, and sustainable future.

Co-led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and implemented by UNDP Philippines, the partnershipโ€™s Specific Objective 2 (SO2) โ€“ Green LGUs supports local governments and communities in advancing inclusive circular economy transitions through efforts to reduce plastic and organic waste, create green jobs, and strengthen climate-resilient and sustainable local systems.

LISSIN 2026 demonstrates that meaningful environmental action can begin with an idea, and that young people can play an important role in transforming ideas into solutions for their communities.

Congratulations to all the young innovators of Isabela City!
