The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), headed by Usodan Salasim, participated in the 3rd Quarter 2026 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held today, September 10, at the Provincial Capitol Building, Isabela City, Basilan.
Conducted in coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD)βBARMM, the simulated earthquake response exercise brought together members of the Isabela Response Cluster and partner agencies to test and strengthen their preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
The activity focused on enhancing inter-agency coordination, communication, interoperability, and rapid response in the face of a possible earthquake emergency.
Through active participation in preparedness exercises such as the NSED, the City Government of Isabela continues to strengthen its commitment to protecting lives, improving disaster response, and building a safer and more resilient Isabela City. (Words by M. Lim / Photos by Wu Chan)
