The first Pickleball matches of the City Hall Palaro got underway as employees from the different clusters took to the court, bringing the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and sportsmanship to the ongoing Civil Service Month celebration.
The opening games featured spirited matchups in the Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed categories, with players showcasing their skills and determination as they began their respective campaigns in the tournament.
After the first round of matches, Cluster 3 posted an unbeaten 3–0 record in the Men’s Category, while also establishing an early lead in the Mixed Category with a 2–0 record.
In the Men’s Category, Cluster 4 stands at 1–1, with one game remaining. Cluster 2 is at 0–1, with two games left, while Cluster 1 is at 0–2, with one game remaining.
The Women’s Category remains closely contested, with Cluster 2 and Cluster 4 both opening with 1–0 records and two games remaining each. Cluster 3 follows at 1–1, with one game left, while Cluster 1 is at 0–2, also with one game remaining.
Meanwhile, in the Mixed Category, Cluster 4 follows Cluster 3 with a 1–0 record and two games left. Cluster 2 currently stands at 0–1, with two games remaining, while Cluster 1 is at 0–2, with one game left to play.
With several matches still on the schedule, the standings remain open as the competing clusters continue their campaign on the court.
More than the pursuit of victory, the Pickleball games provide City Government employees with an avenue to build teamwork, camaraderie, discipline, and sportsmanship, while strengthening their bonds as colleagues beyond their daily work.
The Pickleball tournament continues as part of the City Hall Palaro, with more matches and sporting activities set to bring employees together throughout the Civil Service Month celebration.
