BASILAN PROVINCIAL GOV’T WELCOMES MAYOR CORO, EPR FORUM DELEGATION

The Provincial Government of Basilan led by Governor Mujiv Hataman, welcomed the delegation from the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) IX, LGU Del Carmen, and LGU Isabela City during their courtesy visit on August 18, at Lumah Ra’ayat.

Led by EMB IX Regional Director Atty. Abbas Lao, the delegation was in Basilan as part of its participation in the EPR Environment and Investment Forum 2026, held in Isabela City. Among those who joined the courtesy visit were Del Carmen Mayor Alfredo Coro and Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, along with UNDP LGU Adviser Roland Pereyra, Councilor Al-Ameen Camlian, City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, CENRMO Albino Orbecido, among others.

The forum brought together local government officials and environmental stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and discuss initiatives focused on environmental protection, proper waste management, and sustainable development.

The courtesy visit highlighted the importance of cooperation among local government units and government agencies in advancing environmental programs and promoting sustainable initiatives for communities in the region.
