PAGSASANAY SA PAGGAMIT NG TEKNOLOHIYA PARA SA PRODUKSYON NG KALAMANSI, GINANAP

Ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Isabela, sa pamumuno ni Punong Lungsod Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, ay nagsagawa ng dalawang-araw na “Package of Technology (POT) Training on Calamansi Management and Production” noong Agosto 7–8, na dinaluhan ng mga magsasaka, lokal na opisyal, at mga kinatawan mula sa sektor ng agrikultura.
Pinangunahan ang pagsasanay ng Kagawaran ng Agrikultura (DA) High Value Crops Development Program (DA-HVCDP) bilang bahagi ng layunin nitong mapalawak ang kaalaman ng mga lokal na magsasaka hinggil sa makabagong teknolohiya at mga epektibong pamamaraan sa pagtatanim, pag-aalaga, at pag-ani ng kalamansi upang mapataas ang ani at kita. Nagbigay ng mensahe sina Punong Agrikultor ng Lungsod Maria Gina Alberto at Pangrehiyong Tagapagpaganap na Direktor Engr. Marcos Aves Sr., na kinatawan ni Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer para sa Lungsod ng Isabela at Zamboanga, Arnulfo Estrada.
Sa unang araw, natalakay ang pangkalahatang kaalaman sa kalamansi, kabilang ang iba’t ibang uri nito, mga kinakailangang kondisyon sa pagtatanim, pagpili ng punla, irigasyon, pruning, spacing, fertilization, harvesting, at farm establishment at field management practices, sa pangunguna ni Antonio Magsino Jr., isang agricultural consultant. Kasunod nito ay tinalakay ni Julious Cabantug ng DA-RCPC ang usapin hinggil sa crop protection, na nakatuon sa mga peste at sakit na maaaring umatake sa tanim na kalamansi.
Itinampok naman sa ikalawang araw ang mga paksa ukol sa soil management, kabilang ang soil sampling, conservation, at fertility, na ipinaliwanag ni Joselito Morales mula sa Regional Soils Laboratory. Sinundan ito ng isang sesyon sa marketing na pinangunahan ng Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) at isang field tour upang masaksihan ng mga kalahok ang aktwal na aplikasyon ng kanilang mga natutunan sa pagsasanay.
