WOMEN LEADERS CONVENE FOR LOCAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN FIRST QUARTER MEETING

The Isabela City Local Council of Women (LCW) convened its 1st Quarter Meeting for 2026 on February 13, led by City GAD Focal Person Mendry-Ann Lim and presided over by LCW President Shiela Pararigan.
The meeting focused on the Council’s accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and plans moving forward. Councilor Karel Annjaiza Sakalahul, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Women, Children and Family Affairs and the Committee on Gender and Development, likewise participated in the discussion.
During the meeting, the Council reviewed its accomplishments for Calendar Year (CY) 2025 and discussed priority programs and activities for 2026. The agenda included the presentation of the LCW Accomplishment Report for CY 2025, the election of the new set of LCW officers, discussion of approved Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs), and other related matters.
The Council also discussed the proposed activities and necessary preparations for the celebration of Women’s Month 2026, ensuring that planned initiatives are meaningful, inclusive, and aligned with the city’s Gender and Development (GAD) goals.
Aligned with Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman’s commitment to transparent and participatory governance, accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and local special bodies such as the LCW are encouraged to take an active role in leading and implementing city programs and initiatives. This participatory approach ensures that communities and organizations are genuinely consulted and engaged as partners in planning and development.
