Thunderous drumbeats, soaring lyres, and electrifying routines filled the Isabela City Grandstand as the first-ever provincial-wide Sakayan Bandoreal 2026 reached its peak in a breathtaking showcase of talent and precision.
The Drum and Lyre Provincial-Wide Competition, held on April 27 as part of the 25th Charter Anniversary of Isabela City and the 2026 Sakayan Festival, was spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Tourism Office led by City Tourism Officer Claudio Ramos II, and culminated in high-impact performances at the grandstand, where each contingent delivered its most powerful and polished routines before an enthusiastic crowd.
With every synchronized step and perfectly timed note, the competing drum and lyre corps transformed the venue into a stage of spectacle and sound. Spectators erupted in cheers as performers executed intricate formations, dynamic choreography, and commanding musical pieces that highlighted both creativity and discipline.
Representing various school divisions across Basilan, the participating contingents included Basilan National High School, Basilan State College – Sta. Clara Campus, Claret School of Maluso, Colony National High School, and Tairan National High School.
Emerging as Champion, Colony National High School delivered a standout grandstand performance, earning P100,000. Claret School of Maluso secured 2nd place with P70,000, while Basilan National High School claimed 3rd place with P50,000. Basilan State College – Sta. Clara Campus and Tairan National High School each received P20,000 as consolation prizes.
