A preparatory meeting was conducted in anticipation of the upcoming Local Learning Hub (LLH) Audit of the Philippine Commission on Women—a certification process that recognizes Local Government Units (LGUs) with outstanding gender-responsive programs.
The audit aims to assess whether LGU initiatives meet high standards of gender mainstreaming, designating qualified LGUs as learning hubs where best practices in gender equality can be shared and replicated.
Highlighted during the meeting were the notable programs of Isabela City: HAPIsabida Business Academy, USAHA Center, and HAPDENDA for IP Empowerment
The meeting, held on March 18, was led by CIO/GAD Focal Mendry-Ann Lim, together with PESO Head Aradelria Belleng and PESO staff Reycel Villas and Helen Jairalane Benito. Also present were City Tourism Officer Claudio Ramos II and Tourism Operations Officer Arriana Jupakkal, along with beneficiaries of the featured programs.
This initiative forms part of the city’s continuous efforts to qualify as a Local Learning Hub, reinforcing Isabela City’s commitment to inclusive and gender-responsive governance. (Words by R. Albani, GAD Unit/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
