OUTSTANDING DIKI ‘GARDENTORS,’ RECOGNIZED

The City Population and Nutrition Office, under the leadership of CPMDO/CNAO Jesielyn Puno, conducted an awarding ceremony recognizing outstanding Gardenator owners in Barangay Diki, January 8.

Out of 16 participating Gardenator owners, the Top 3 performers were awarded cash prizes and T-shirts courtesy of the City Nutrition Office, while the remaining 13 participants received consolation prizes in recognition of their efforts and active participation.

The activity was supported through the provision of seeds, seedbeds, and sprinklers from KIDS WHO FARM, made possible through the support of Muneer Hinay and Angelo Gabriel Lantin.

Prior to the awarding ceremony, population staff facilitated a Family Development Session (FDS) attended by 18 couples. The session covered sustainable gardening practices and key topics on Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning, highlighting informed decision-making, proper birth spacing, and the role of family planning in enhancing household food security and overall family well-being. During the program, the top three awardees shared testimonies on how the Gardenator program positively improved their gardening practices and household livelihoods.

The successful implementation of the activity was made possible through the full support of Punong Barangay Nihma Janing Deman and the Barangay Nutrition Committee. (Photos by KC Galos, CIO)
