OPLAN KALUSUGAN SA DepED (OKD) CARAVAN

The Department of Education (DepEd) Health and Nutrition Section, in partnership with the City Government of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, successfully held the Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEd (OKD) Caravan and Regional Office Progress Monitoring for the School-Based Feeding Program and other health services on April 8, at Begang Central Elementary School.
This initiative was carried out in collaboration with key city offices including the Basilan Medical Center (BMC), City Health Office (CHO), City Population Management and Development Office (CPMDO), and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO). The event aimed to assess the implementation and progress of the School-Based Feeding Program while also reinforcing other essential health services provided in schools.
A highlight of the activity was the provision of medical services and the deployment of a mobile kitchen by the City Government of Isabela, demonstrating the strong partnership between DepEd and the local government in promoting student wellness.
Through this joint effort, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that learners in Isabela City are healthy, well-nourished, and equipped to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
