In affirmation of its commitment to inclusive and participatory governance, the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, conducted the oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) from six barangays of Isabela City on April 11.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman administered the oath and expressed her unwavering support for the IP communities, emphasizing the importance of inclusive governance and the role of IPMRs in promoting cultural preservation and progress.
The six barangays with newly appointed IPMRs are:
Baluno – Nurhabel KassanLanote – Fathea BasirulLukbuton – Jamar PalluhMakiri – Munawar SaliPanigayan – Jannang JamaluddinPort Area – Jomer AtangThe event was attended by IPMR City Councilor Mary May Julhari, Executive Assistant on IP Affairs Norhaiya Diabo-Macusang, representatives from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and other stakeholders advocating for the rights and welfare of IPs.
