LOCAL YOUNG ARTISTS SHOWCASE FAITH AND CREATIVITY IN ‘CRESENT MOON’ MAKING CONTEST

As part of its Ramadhan Special initiatives for National Arts Month (NAM) 2026 and the observance of the Holy Month of Ramadhan, the City Government of Isabela, led by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman and through the City Tourism Office, hosted the Hilal: Crescent Moon Making Contest.
Participants demonstrated their creativity in designing symbolic crescent moons, a significant emblem of Ramadhan. Contestants crafted intricate designs that reflected both cultural symbolism and personal artistry, showcasing their talent and dedication. The contest aimed to strengthen appreciation for Islamic culture while providing a platform for artistic expression.
Through such initiatives, the City Government of Isabela continues to promote creativity, cultural pride, and community participation, reinforcing the city’s commitment to celebrating Filipino-Muslim heritage and the values of the holy month. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
