LGU LAUNCHES 90-DAY SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR AT-RISK MOTHERS OF BINUANGAN

The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Population Management and Development Office/City Nutrition Action Office headed by CPMDO/CNAO Jesielyn Puno, officially launched the 90-Day Dietary Supplementation Program on September 26 for 40 nutritionally at-risk pregnant and lactating women of Barangay Binuangan.
The program provides beneficiaries with one hot, nutritious meal daily, along with information, education, and communication (IEC) materials such as the 10 Kumainments, first 1,000 Days (F1KD), and Pinggang Pinoy. Complementing the meals were nutrition education and advocacy sessions, with City Nutrition Program Coordinator Nujaima Abdurahman discussing the First 1,000 Days and Pinggang Pinoy, while Nutritionist-Dietitian I Nasra Mohammad delivered a lecture on the 10 Kumainments.
Barangay officials, led by Punong Barangay Arcel Patiño, together with the Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and members of the Barangay Nutrition Committee, expressed their full support for the program. Also present were HRH Nurse Scitadel Delgado, Kagawad on Health and Nutrition Anjielyn Aguillo, BION representatives, and staff of the CPMDO/CNAO.
The initiative, designed to improve nutrition and health outcomes for mothers and their children, underscores the city’s commitment to combating malnutrition, particularly during the crucial first 1,000 days of life. By supporting vulnerable groups, the program strengthens community health and contributes to sustainable development in Isabela City. (With Photos by KJ Evardo, IsaTV)
