LGU-ISABELA CITY, MARINA INK PARTNERSHIP TO PROMOTE MARITIME SAFETY

In line with the nationwide observance of maritime safety, the Maritime Industry Authority Regional Office IX (MARINA IX) headed by OIC-Regional Director Dr. Farida Cunanan, in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), led a motorcade on April 21 for the Maritime Safety Culture Awareness Campaign Caravan.
The activity started at the Isabela City Port and passed through JS Alano Street Extension and Valderosa Street, ending at the Isabela City Civic and Cultural Center. The initiative is aligned with the “Ligtas Biyaheng Dagat” campaign of the agency which seeks to promotes a culture of safety and responsibility in the maritime sector, especially in coastal communities like Isabela City.
A key part of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), affirming the City Government’s support for maritime safety. Represented by City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman’s administration committed to helping build a safer and more informed maritime industry.
