LGU-ISABELA CITY LAUNCHING PEER EDCATION ROLLOUT TO EMPOWER YOUTH ADVOCATES

In support of youth empowerment and community development, the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and in partnership with the Isabela City Youth Development Council (ICYDC), conducted a Peer Education Rollout, November 5, at the Sta. Barbara Barangay Hall.
This activity aims to empower young Isabeleños by equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to address key social issues through a series of interactive and informative learning sessions. The program featured discussions on Mental Health Awareness with Ms. Levinia P. Jarejolne, Local Youth Development Officer; Teenage Pregnancy Prevention with Ms. Wahida Tapsi; and Anti-Illegal Drugs Advocacy with PMSg Zarna Abuharis.
Participants included youth representatives from the barangays of Marang-Marang, Diki, Carbon, and Tampalan, endorsed through their respective Alternative Learning System (ALS) Coordinators and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons.
The Peer Education Rollout formed part of the city’s continuing efforts to build a network of informed, responsible, and proactive youth advocates who championed positive change, awareness, and community well-being across Isabela City.
This initiative underscored the local government’s commitment to creating an inclusive, empowered, and well-informed youth sector, in line with its vision of a city where young people actively participated in promoting social responsibility and sustainable development.
