Lim served as resource speaker during a Gender and Development (GAD) Session conducted by the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Isabela City through West District II on March 6 at Cabunbata Elementary School.
The activity, held as part of the Clustered Learning Action Cell (LAC), supports the celebration of National Women’s Month with the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.”
During the session, Ms. Lim discussed Gender Sensitivity, emphasizing the importance of Gender and Development (GAD) and its key concepts as a development approach in promoting inclusive and equitable communities. She also highlighted the crucial role of teachers in fostering gender sensitivity among learners, noting that educators play a vital part in shaping a future generation that values respect, equality, and inclusion.
Aside from the GAD discussion, Ms. Jeanette Climaco Rojas, a paralegal and personnel from the Local Amnesty Board, also delivered a presentation on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), raising awareness on the different forms of violence and the importance of prevention, reporting mechanisms, and community support systems.
Participants of the activity included school principals, teachers, and non-teaching personnel from West District II, who engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening gender-responsive practices in schools.
The initiative reflects the continued collaboration between the City Government of Isabela under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia A.
