In observance of Library and Information Services Month, the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Information Office (CIO) headed by Mendry-Ann Lim, conducted the turnover and distribution of Freedom of Information (FOI) posters to Basilan State College (BaSC) on November 5.
The activity was organized by Shermina Sualing, Information Officer II, and participated in by FOI Focal Persons from 22 offices of the City Government of Isabela.
This initiative aims to strengthen public access to government information and promote awareness of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Program among students and the academic community. The team also paid a courtesy visit to BaSC President Dr. Haipa Abdurahim-Salain and Information Officer Sitti Hanna Abah, and visited various departments and offices within the college to distribute FOI posters. Students likewise received copies of FOI materials to encourage transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of public information.
The activity forms part of Isabela City’s FOI Awareness Campaign, highlighting the local government’s continuing commitment to open, transparent, and participatory governance in line with Mayor Hataman’s vision of an empowered and informed citizenry.
