The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, convened the members of the Local Revenue Code (LRC) Oversight Committee on July 14 at the JB Dans Hall to advance the updating of the city’s Local Revenue Code.

The meeting was held pursuant to Executive Order No. 17, series of 2026, entitled “An Order Reconstituting the Oversight Committee on the Revision of Fees and Charges of the City of Isabela, Province of Basilan.” The reconstituted committee is tasked with reviewing and updating the city’s revenue measures to ensure they remain responsive to present-day economic conditions and aligned with existing laws and policies.

During the meeting, the committee established the timetable and schedule of activities for the completion of the Local Revenue Code update, reviewed and discussed the proposed draft provisions, resolved outstanding issues, and incorporated the comments, recommendations, and revisions submitted by the concerned offices. Members likewise agreed on the target completion dates to ensure the timely submission of the proposed Local Revenue Code to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for deliberation and enactment.

Committee members also presented their respective recommendations, supporting documents, and updated draft provisions relevant to their areas of responsibility, allowing for a comprehensive review of the proposed revisions and fostering a collaborative approach toward refining the city’s revenue policies.

Present during the meeting were City Councilors Yusop Abubakar, Jeromy Casas, James Abner Rodriguez, Alexes Infante-Ututalum, Asan Al-Ameen Camlian, and Jashim Tiplani; ABC President Abral Abdurahman; City Administrator Pedrito Eisma; City Secretary Atty. Justin Jude Briones; department heads; and members of the Local Revenue Code Oversight Committee.

The updating of the Local Revenue Code forms part of the City Government’s continuing commitment to strengthening fiscal governance, improving local revenue generation, and ensuring that the city’s fees, charges, and regulatory measures remain fair, responsive, and supportive of Isabela City’s long-term growth and sustainable development.
