LARGA ISABELA WITH KONSI NAILA

Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Naila Belleng, in partnership with the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) led by Levinia Jarejolne, spearheaded the “Be the Change: Community Involvement and Volunteerism” youth development workshop on July 2, bringing together Out-of-School Youth (OYS) and Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) beneficiaries.
The activity aimed to ignite awareness and inspire action among young Isabeleños by promoting civic engagement and volunteerism as effective tools for community transformation. Guest speaker Uzair Ammang shared insights on youth leadership and encouraged participants to take initiative in creating positive change within their barangays.
As part of the workshop, participants engaged in a group activity where they planned simple volunteer tasks—deciding what project to undertake, how and when to implement it, and sharing their plans with peers.
In alignment with the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s rallying call “READY, SET, LARGA SP!”, the event highlighted the role of youth not just as future leaders, but as active participants in shaping a better Isabela City today. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
