JANGGAYAN TAGURI COMPETITION SOARS IN 2026 SAKAYAN FEST CELEBRATION

Color, creativity, and culture filled the skies of Isabela City as the Janggayan Taguri Competition took center stage in celebration of the 25th Isabela City Charter Anniversary and the 2026 Sakayan Festival. As part of this milestone celebration, the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Tourism Office led by City Tourism Officer Claudio Ramos II, held the competition, April 29, at the Isabela City Grandstand.
A 13 participating groups showcased their creativity, artistry, and soaring spirit through colorful and uniquely crafted janggayan taguri, reflecting both cultural pride and innovative design:

Entry 3: UMC Upsilon Muchi 1844
Entry 4: Buhay ni Jiegung
Entry 5: Mahaba Spearo Org.
Entry 6: Too Realians
Entry 7: Boarders
Entry 8: D’Craps
Entry 9: KRK
Entry 10: Thunder Z.
Entry 11: Sahur Lagi
Entry 12: Angels
Entry 13: Tau Gamma Phi
Each entry was evaluated based on stability, durability, craftsmanship, and overall visual appeal, highlighting not only technical skill but also the participants’ dedication to preserving this vibrant cultural practice. Winners of the competition will be officially announced during the awards night of the Sakayan Festival on May 2.
The competition drew an enthusiastic crowd to the grandstand, where spectators filled the venue with laughter, cheers, and unwavering support for their respective entries. The energy of the audience echoed throughout the event as families, friends, and supporters came together to celebrate the creativity and spirit of each competing group.
