ISABELA CITY WELCOMES NEW SCHOOL YEAR WITH ‘BRIGADA ESKWELA’

Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, participated in the Brigada Eskwela 2024 Division Kick-off ceremony, July 25, held in Barangay Masola with the theme: “Bayanihan Para Sa Matatag na Paaralan”. This event, organized by the Department of Education – Schools Division Office Isabela City, aimed to rally the community together to prepare school facilities for the upcoming academic year. Showing their support were Vice Mayor Jhul Kifli Salliman, Councilors Abner Rodriguez, Bimbo Epping and Karel Annjaiza Sakkalahul, PNP Isabela City Police Station Chief PLTCOL Parson Asadil, punong barangays and stakeholders.
The ceremony commenced with a motorcade that started from the DepEd–SDO Isabela City and made its way to Masola Barangay Hall. Upon arrival, the participants were welcomed by Masola Punong Barangay Hja. Normina Munjalal, and was followed by Ustadz Munni who led the Duwaa Salamat, offering prayers for the opening of Masola National High School and invoking blessings for the upcoming academic year.
During the ceremony, several notable figures delivered messages of support and inspiration. 101st Infantry Brigade Commanding Officer BGEN Alvin Luzon, PA shared his encouraging words, emphasizing the role of education in building a strong and resilient community.
As mentioned by SDS Dr. Jay Montealto, DepEd Isabela City’s plans are aligned with that of the local government unit. Thus, by bringing the schools to the community, this will make schools more accessible to the children and distance will no longer be a challenge.
For her part, Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman challenged all present to do a collective effort for the learners of Isabela City, saying, “Gawin nating maganda ang Isabela para sa ating mga anak.” In addition, she presented the recipient schools for the 2024 projects to be funded by the LGU through the Special Education Fund.
The mayor also expressed her appreciation for the collective efforts of the community in ensuring the success of Brigada Eskwela, emphasizing the transformative power of education and highlighted the role of the community in creating a conducive learning environment for the students.
As the ceremony drew to a close, SDO-Isabela City Legal Officer Atty. Vijahad Kanni delivered a closing message, expressing her gratitude to all participants and emphasizing the significance of their commitment to the success of Brigada Eskwela. The event culminated with the stakeholders signing a commitment, symbolizing their dedication to working together to enhance educational facilities and promote community engagement.
