ISABELA CITY STRENGTHENS NUTRISKWELA COMMUNITY RADIO BROADCASTING

The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, successfully held a two-day Nutriskwela Radio Broadcasting Workshop for Community Anchors on December 16–17.
Almost 60 participants, who serve as anchors of various programs of Nutriskwela Radyo Komunidad, were the participants.
On the second day, nutrition-related topics and the Nutri-Skwela Framework were discussed by NNC IX Nutrition Officer II Ailrryst Gay Solosa, RND. Additional sessions included a review of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), presented by LEDIPO Chief and RK Acting Station Manager Jaime Juanito Rivera, and a Gender-Fair Media Orientation conducted by GAD Focal Person and City Information Officer Mendry-Ann Lim.
In her message, Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman reiterated her strong commitment to the Nutriskwela Program, citing the utilization of the city’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) incentive to acquire a new radio transmitter—an investment that significantly enhances the station’s capacity to deliver timely and relevant information to the public.
The workshop concluded with participants sharing testimonials on the knowledge and skills they acquired, underscoring the training’s significant impact on their effectiveness as community anchors.
In her closing remarks, CNAO/CPMDO Jesielyn Puno thanked the resource persons and participants for their active engagement and encouraged the anchors to apply their learnings in delivering accurate, responsible, and community-centered radio programs. She also shared the City Government of Isabela’s recent receipt of the CROWN Award for Nutrition Governance, highlighting it as a testament to the city’s strong commitment to advancing nutrition programs and effective information dissemination.
The Nutriskwela Program is a radio initiative of the City Government of Isabela, in partnership with the National Nutrition Council, designed to promote nutrition awareness, healthy lifestyles, and informed community participation through effective radio broadcasting.
