ISABELA CITY SHARES BEST PRACTICES IN HEALTH COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC INFORMATION

Isabela City once again proved its leadership in strategic communication as City Information Officer Mendry Ann Lim took the spotlight during the Communications Planning for Health and Development, July 30, in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur. Her presentation aimed to motivate Zamboanga del Sur’s Information Officers (IOs) and Health Education and Promotions Officers (HEPOs) to strengthen their own information networks and elevate their communication efforts.
Sharing Isabela City Information Office (CIO) and Barangay Information Officers Network (BION) best practices, inspired fellow communicators to enhance their own systems by adopting effective, inclusive, and creative methods in information dissemination. Isabela City has earned multiple citations for its proactive stance in delivering timely, relevant, and accessible updates, using a mix of community-based outreach, multimedia platforms, and partnerships that foster a well-informed citizenry.
Lim emphasized that the success and effectiveness of the City Information Office and BION in Isabela City are rooted in the unwavering support and visionary leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman. Her commitment to transparent governance and inclusive communication has empowered local information officers to perform their roles with purpose, consistency, and impact.
The planning session was organized by the Department of Health Region IX in collaboration with the Philippine Information Agency Region IX. The activity highlights the critical role of localized communication efforts in advancing public health outcomes and showcases Isabela City as a model LGU for effective communication efforts across the region.
