In a meaningful celebration of dedication, sacrifice, and nation-building, the City Government of Isabela joined the Division-wide National/World Teachers’ Day 2025 on October 3 at the Isabela City Civic and Cultural Center. Guided by the theme “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” the event brought together educators from both public and private schools who continue to shape futures and uplift communities.
Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman delivered a deeply heartfelt message that went beyond ceremony—it was a tribute and a commitment. She expressed profound gratitude to the teaching community and emphasized how, through the years, DepEd has grown to become family to the LGU. She reaffirmed that the city government stands side by side with educators—not only in celebration, but in concrete support.
In a moment that drew excitement and cheers from the crowd, Mayor Turabin-Hataman pledged cash prizes for 20 teachers who will each receive ₱3,000—an unexpected gesture that brought joy and appreciation to the celebration.
She also emphasized the LGU’s readiness for ZPRAA 2026, assuring that preparations are already complete and that the city is committed to assisting DepEd every step of the way to ensure a successful hosting.
Further demonstrating this support, the Mayor reported the ₱20 million allocated by the LGU for school repairs across the city. Several schools have already been completed, while others are ongoing—an investment that reflects the administration’s belief that dignified learning spaces honor both teachers and learners.
Adding to the spirit of appreciation, Board Member Amin pledged ₱150,000, awarding ₱1,000 each to 150 lucky teachers. In his message, he honored teaching as a noble profession—the source of every excellent doctor, engineer, public servant, and leader—and emphasized the lifelong impact of a good educator.
The presence of Councilors Karel Annjaiza Sakkalahul, Jay Casas, Amin Camlian, Alex Ututalum, and Jashim Tiplani, along with LGU personnel, highlighted the city’s unified dedication to strengthening education in Isabela City.
This year’s celebration was more than recognition—it was a reaffirmation that teachers are not only valued, but supported, honored, and remembered.
