On behalf of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, the City Government of Isabela and its employees welcomed the Zamboanga Chong Hua High School (ZCHHS) Lion Dance Troupe on February 12 for a mesmerizing traditional performance.
The vibrant event, staged at the Isabela City Hall, was made possible through the coordination of the ZCHHS Alumni Association. The performance was held to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse, bringing a spirit of prosperity and joy to the government center. The festivities continued at the Sangguniang Panlungsod, where Vice Mayor Ar-Jhemar Ajibon and the City Councilors received the troupe.
Beyond the festivities, the event served as a significant gesture of solidarity with the Filipino-Chinese community. By hosting the troupe, the City Government of Isabela highlighted its appreciation for the diverse cultural heritage that strengthens the social fabric of both the city and the Philippines as a whole. The rhythmic drums and intricate choreography of the lion dance drew a large crowd of employees and visitors, fostering a sense of unity and shared celebration within the local government.
