IN PHOTOS, ANNUAL CALIBRATION OF ANTHROPOMETRIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMEMENT

The City Population Management and Development Office/City Nutrition Action Office, headed by CPMDO/CNA Jesielyn Puno, is preparing, January 20, for the Annual Calibration of Anthropometric Measurement Equipment in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology–Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) IX.
The DepEd SDO-Isabela City, through its Health and Nutrition Office represented by Mary Joy Luzon, was also encouraged to bring its anthropometric equipment for calibration. The activity is conducted annually to ensure the accuracy and reliability of anthropometric equipment used in Isabela City, particularly for Operation Timbang Plus.
The activity will be conducted from January 20 to 23. It aims to ensure precise anthropometric measurements essential in assessing the nutritional status of children and to provide technical guidance to Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Barangay Health Workers, and other health workers on the proper conduct of Operation Timbang (+), which is implemented every first quarter of the year to assess children aged 0–59 months in the city’s 45 barangays.
The activity is being conducted with the guidance of DOST-FNRI Project Technical Assistant IVs Anthony Javier and Miguel Louis Calunod, with support from Raymond Clemente. City Nutrition Program Coordinator Nujaima Abdurahman, Nasra Mohammad, and Focal Nutrition Dietitians Silma Adam and Ushyma Jamaaril, with the assistance of DOH–NDDP representative Anisa Cuevas, also conducted a brief orientation on proper nutritional assessment, including the correct use of height boards, weighing scales, and MUAC tapes, for newly hired BNS from Barangays Kaumpurnah Zone III, Marketsite, Masola, and Menzi.
