The Department of Education IX, in coordination with the City Government of Isabela, successfully conducted the Final Coordination Meeting for the city’s hosting of the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) 2026 Meet on January 15 at the Basilan National High School Gymnasium.
The meeting gathered key national and local officials, committee chairs, and partner agencies to finalize arrangements and confirm the city’s overall readiness for the upcoming regional athletic event. Comprehensive updates on completed tasks, ongoing concerns, and priority action points were presented to ensure the smooth, safe, and orderly conduct of the ZPRAA 2026 Meet.
All functional committees—including water supply; supplies and equipment; protocol; child protection; documentation and results of games; sanitation and cleanliness; medical, health, and safety; security and peace and order; traffic management; communications and media; logistics and transportation; awards; parade; and other special events—reported their preparedness and final action plans.
The coordination also covered ceremonial guidelines, fluvial parade and torch relay protocols, provision of food and snacks, accommodation arrangements for delegates and guests, tourism itineraries, and the presentation of other ZPRAA-related activities and programs in Isabela City.
Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman highlighted ZPRAA 2026 as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and shared identity among local governments and emphasized that the focus of the city’s hosting efforts is on meaningful participation and a positive experience, rather than grand displays. She noted that regional gatherings such as ZPRAA help build unity and pride, while sharing that Isabela City has been preparing for the event since last year to ensure a safe, convenient, and welcoming experience for all delegations.
With the completion of the final coordination meeting, the City Government of Isabela reaffirmed its full readiness to host the ZPRAA 2026 Meet, expressing confidence in providing a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for athletes, officials, and delegates from across the Zamboanga Peninsula.
