CITY TOURISM, GAD UNIT HOST THREE-DAY HMU TRAINING WITH STYLE EXPERT ALEX CARBONELL

As part of the colorful and community-centered celebration of Sakayan Festival 2025, the City Government of Isabela launched a three-day Haircut, Hair Color, Make-Up, and Hairstyling Program. The initiative was led by the City Tourism Office under CTO Claudio Ramos II, with full support from the Gender and Development (GAD) Unit, and under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman.
This special event forms part of the city’s efforts to bring inclusive and empowering activities to its constituents during the festival. It was made even more meaningful through the participation from 10 make up artists and 10 hair and cut artists. Additionally, the members of the Local Council of Women, who proudly served as models during the hair and makeup demonstrations. Their involvement highlighted the city’s ongoing commitment to gender empowerment and visibility for women in all spheres of local development.
Renowned stylist Alex Carbonell, Chief Artistic Creative Director of Studio Fix Salon, facilitated the transformation sessions, which included haircutting for various hair lengths, creative hair coloring techniques, and complete makeup and hairstyling makeovers. The sessions were interactive and engaging, promoting both learning and self-care.
With the strong collaboration between the City Tourism Office and GAD Unit, the three-day event proved to be a vibrant blend of celebration, service, and empowerment, truly reflecting the essence of the Sakayan Festival and the HAPIsabela spirit.
