CITY COOPERATIVE DEV’T OFFICE HOLDS ‘KOOPMUSTAHAN LOVE DRIVE’

In line with the celebration of Cooperative Month 2025, the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Cooperatives Development Office led by CCDO Ahmad Tiplani, conducted the KoopMustahan Local Outreach Activity for the Vulnerable and Economically Disadvantaged (LOVE) Drive on October 4, at Kawa-Kawa Elementary School in Barangay Baluno.

The activity benefited a total of 150 students and 17 teachers from Kawa-Kawa Elementary School, while 90 individuals availed of basic medical services and nine participants successfully donated blood. Embodying this year’s theme, “Cooperatives: United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World,” the LOVE Drive reflected the true essence of cooperation—serving the community and promoting shared prosperity.

The program commenced with welcome remarks from Principal I Roseller Obedencia of Kawa-Kawa Elementary School, who expressed gratitude to the City Government and partner cooperatives for extending assistance to their learners and the community. Also present were EPS II Shaidomar Francisco of DepEd-Isabela City and Committee on Health Chairperson Jennifer Bacalanmo of Barangay Baluno.

Throughout the event, participants benefited from a range of services including a feeding activity for students, basic medical check-ups, a bloodletting initiative, and the HAPIsabela Mobile Library, which encouraged children to read and learn beyond the classroom. School supplies were also distributed to Kawa-Kawa Elementary School learners to support their educational needs.

The LOVE Drive stood as a meaningful expression of solidarity and compassion, demonstrating how cooperatives and local government units can work hand in hand to improve lives, especially among vulnerable and economically disadvantaged sectors. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
