City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman joined persons with disabilities (PWDs), their families, and advocates in celebrating the 48th National Disability Rights Week 2026 on July 23 at the West Terminal in Barangay Aguada.






Organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in collaboration with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), the celebration dubbed as “Dia de Alegria Para na Maga PWD,” highlighted the City Government’s commitment to promoting the rights, welfare, and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
In her message, Mayor Turabin-Hataman reaffirmed the City Government’s continued support for programs and initiatives that empower PWDs, promote equal opportunities, and recognize their valuable contributions to the community.
The program featured a welcome message from City Social Welfare and Development Officer Nor-Aina Asmara and an inspirational message from Councilor Karel Annjaiza Sakkalahul. The program also featured the “Galing Kusina, Galing PWD” Cooking Contest, Larong Pinoy, and an awarding ceremony recognizing the participants’ talents and achievements.
