ALS, YOUTH LEADERS PRESENT CAPACITY-DEVELOPMENT PLAN

In an effort to strengthen youth leadership and promote personal growth among out-of-school youth (OSY), the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Federation of Isabela City paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman on April 10 to share highlights and outcomes of their recently conducted initiatives. Also present during the visit were LYDO Levinia Jarejolne and MDO Ashraf Abubakar from the CSWDO.
During the discussion, the youth leaders presented ideas for future plans and received valuable insights from Mayor Turabin-Hataman. The mayor encouraged them to consider including Traditional Arts and Skills Training—such as tenun weaving, batawi crafting, blacksmithing (pira), and tambuku making—to promote cultural preservation while offering practical, livelihood-ready skills.
The discussion also centered on the two-day Capacity Development Training held in collaboration with the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD). The activity aimed to equip young participants with essential life skills and empower them to take active roles in their communities.
A total of 43 participants, including PYAP Federation officers from various barangays, took part in the training, which was held under the theme “Unlocking OSYs’ Potential through Personal Growth.” The event reflected a shared commitment between the youth and the city government to build a more empowered and future-ready generation.
