In celebration of Earth Day 2025, the City Government of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through its City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and in collaboration with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Aguada led by Punong Barangay Nazrullah Idris, successfully conducted the Aguada River Clean-Up Activity on April 22.
With the theme of promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship, the clean-up drive reaffirmed the City’s ongoing commitment to restoring and protecting natural resources, particularly the Aguada River, a vital component of the local ecosystem.
Participants brought their own cleaning tools and reusable containers in support of the City’s advocacy to minimize the use of single-use plastics. The initiative highlighted the importance of collaborative action and community involvement in environmental protection.
The City Government expressed its gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement and reaffirmed its dedication to advancing programs that protect Isabela City’s natural resources. (Words by SJ Asakil, CIO/Photos by A. Puti, IsaTV)
