LGU-ISABELA CITY TO EXPLORE LONG-TERM WATER SECURITY PLAN

Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman met with representatives from Global Water Solutions, Inc. (GWSI) on July 15 to discuss the proposed development of a comprehensive Water Security Master Plan for the city.
Leading the GWSI delegation was president and director for business development Engr. Jay Yu Tecson, joined by Engr. Maurice Tobon and Engr. Fernando Camba. Also present were Isabela City Water District (ISAWAD) general manager Muctar Muarip and director Julie Ann Marie Lim.
The proposed master plan seeks to provide a long-term strategic framework for water and sanitation policies in Isabela City, emphasizing watershed protection, climate resilience, and inclusive governance. It includes the creation of a Water Security Council and a series of public consultations to ensure community engagement and ownership of the initiative.
Aligned with the Philippine Water Supply and Sanitation Master Plan, the proposal supports the national goal of achieving universal access to safe and sustainable water by 2030. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
