In line with the culmination of the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration and the commemoration of 83rd Araw ng Kagitingan, the Department of Education-Isabela City Schools Division, through a collaboration with the Girl Scout of the Philippines-Basilan Council and the City Government of Isabela under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, conducted a two-part activity on April 9, at Basilan National High School Gymnasium.
The event, which drew 320 participants, featured the Zumba Dance activity titled “Join the Beat, Zumba to Bits” as the closing activity for NWMC 2025. The lively and energetic dance session celebrated the strength, vibrancy, and contributions of women from all sectors of society. The Women’s Month celebration carried the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
Complementing the celebration was the “Seed to Grow: A Tree Growing Activity” in honor of Araw ng Kagitingan or the Day of Valor, which commemorates the heroism of Filipino fighters during World War II. This symbolic act of planting trees also reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, resilience, and nation-building.
Among the participants were representatives from various sectors and agencies including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), DOLE TUPAD/KADIWA beneficiaries, 1604 Community Defense Center, Philippine Army, 19th SF, 4th SF, 101st Brigade, 10th IB CAFGU, Philippine Coast Guard-Isabela Station, Herbalife, as well as students and teachers from public and private schools.
