LGU-ISABELA CITY CONGRATULATES RSPC WINNERS, EXTENDS SUPPORT FOR RFOT DELEGATION

Victorious campus journalists from Isabela City, led by Crystal Ruleth Casio of Basilan National High School—champion in Photojournalism (Filipino) and a qualifier for the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC)—paid a courtesy call on April 2 to celebrate their achievements in the 2025 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).
Representing Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, Councilor James Abner Rodriguez, chair of the SP Committee on Education, warmly welcomed the delegation, commending their hard work and talent. He emphasized the importance of ethical journalism in shaping an informed society and assured the student-journalists of the city’s continued support for education and youth development. He congratulated both the winners and their mentors, encouraging them to remain passionate about truth-seeking and storytelling.
Accompanying the students were their coaches, school heads, and officials from the Department of Education (DepEd) Isabela City Division, who expressed their gratitude for the city’s unwavering support in empowering young journalists.
Following this recognition, Mayor Turabin-Hataman, through her representative, also led the send-off ceremony for the Isabela City delegation set to compete in the Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) to be held at Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.
A total of 106 delegates—comprising 58 learners, 30 coaches, and 18 officials—were recognized as they prepared to represent Isabela City in this prestigious regional competition. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
