‘TULOY PO KAYO!’ -ISABELA CITY HALL WELCOMES SECOND YEAR OF ‘OPEN HOUSE’

In celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, and in line with its commitment to providing a government that is transparent, participatory, effective, and efficient, the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, held its second Government Open House from September 17 to 19. This initiative was led by the City Human Resource Management Office headed by CHRMO Rosella Luna and was specifically designed to bring government services and officials closer to the people, promoting active citizen engagement and awareness of the local government’s programs, projects, and services.
The event featured an interactive experience for visitors, where each participant received a “passport” to be used during the Open House. This passport encouraged them to visit different offices within the city government, engage with public servants, and complete various tasks and challenges prepared by each department. As they moved from one office to another, visitors collected stickers for their passports, earning points based on their level of participation. These points were then redeemable for prizes, adding an element of fun and engagement to the experience.
Now on its second year, Government Open House aims to provide the public with valuable insights into the workings of the local government, allowing citizens to better understand the processes behind city services and policies. It also fostered direct engagement between local representatives, policymakers, and the people they serve, creating a platform for dialogue and mutual understanding. Furthermore, the event created opportunities for community members to connect with one another, building a stronger sense of unity within the city. Through this initiative, attendees also learned about the latest projects and exciting new developments led by the City Government of Isabela. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
