GSP BASILAN JOINS THE 7TH SESSION OF SAKAYAN-KAALAMAN 4.0

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) – Basilan Chapter took part in the seventh session of Sakayan-Kaalaman Reading Program 4.0, held on September 7 at Westside Elementary School.

Sakayan-Kaalaman Reading Program 4.0 is an initiative of the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, and brought to life through the City Information Office (CIO), headed by CIO Mendry-Ann Lim.

The session was hosted by Westside Elementary School, led by Principal Nurrahma Abubakar, and facilitated by Mobile Library Focal Person Jham-Jham Kalbi, in partnership with the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), headed by Levinia Jarejolne.

The GSP, led by Council President Ruby Ann Yu, engaged the learners in an interactive learning session introducing basic GSP greetings and scout-related activities. The learners also learned about the different parts of the human body and their functions, while emphasizing the importance of respecting individual differences and accepting everyone regardless of who they are.

To make the session more engaging, the GSP also conducted fun and educational games, with support from the Youth Space Mentoring Program (YSMP) volunteers, encouraging teamwork, participation, and camaraderie among the learners.

Through meaningful and interactive learning experiences, Sakayan-Kaalaman 4.0 continues to promote awareness, compassion, inclusivity, and respect, helping young learners develop not only knowledge but also positive values that they can carry beyond the classroom.
