LUTONG BAHAY, LUTONG NANAY SHARES MEALS WITH OVER 50 TRICYCLE DRIVERS

In support of the 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration, Lutong Bahay, Lutong Nanay, a radio segment under the Gender and Development (GAD) Program in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), extended its advocacy beyond the airwaves through a community food distribution activity held on the morning of July 14, 2026, at the Pasangan Cultural Center.

Anchored and led by Shiela Pagarigan, who also prepared the meals, the initiative brought together volunteers in serving freshly cooked, nutritious meals to more than 50 tricycle drivers, recognizing their invaluable contribution in providing safe and reliable transportation services to the people of Isabela City.

Aired every Tuesday on RKFM 97.5, Lutong Bahay, Lutong Nanay serves as a platform that combines practical cooking demonstrations, nutrition education, family wellness, and community outreach. The food distribution activity reflects the program’s continuing mission to promote healthy eating habits while nourishing not only families through information but also the community through meaningful acts of service.

The initiative also supports the City’s observance of Nutrition Month, highlighting the importance of proper nutrition, food security, and community solidarity in building healthier and more resilient families.

Through initiatives like this, the City Government under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman reaffirms its commitment to gender-responsive, nutrition-sensitive, and people-centered programs that promote the health and well-being of every Isabeleño.(Words by M.
