ROTARY CLUB HOLDS FUN FOR 2026 SAKAYAN FESTIVAL

As part of the celebration of the 25th Charter Anniversary of Isabela City and the 2026 Sakayan Festival, the Rotary Fun Run 2026 was conducted on April 26, at the Isabela City Park, Fuego-Fuego Beachfront, Tabiawan.
Organized by the Rotary Club of Basilan, the event highlighted the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle while fostering camaraderie among Isabeleños. Participants from different sectors joined the run, choosing among the 10KM, 5KM, and 3KM categories, all sharing a common goal of promoting wellness and supporting meaningful community initiatives.
Despite the early call time, participants showed enthusiasm and determination, filling the streets of Isabela City with energy and positivity. The event concluded successfully with the awarding of winners in each race category.

Special recognition was also given to the oldest participant, Armando Lagahi, aged 69, and the youngest participant, Al-ameer Muhajil, aged 11, highlighting the inclusive and community-driven spirit of the event.
After the run, a lively Zumba session energized participants even further, turning the morning into a celebration of fitness, fun, and togetherness.
The event was made possible through the efforts of the Rotary Club of Basilan, in collaboration with the Barangay Council of Seaside, led by Punong Barangay Fitzgerald Tan, with the full support of the City Government of Isabela under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Tourism Office.
