ZAMBOANGA CITY WINS BACK-TO-BACK GOLD, RULES ZPRAA 2026 SECONDARY BOYS BASKETBALL

Showing no signs of slowing down, Zamboanga City pulled off a tough win against the Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog-Dapitan Athletic Association (ZANDIDAA) to sweep the basketball championships in the ZPRAA Meet 2026.
Following the exciting finish of the girls’ division, the boys took to the court, April 10, at the Isabela City Civic and Cultural Center (Gym) in Binuangan. The atmosphere was electric as the two powerhouse teams went head-to-head in a physical and fast-paced game that kept the crowd cheering until the very last second.
It was a total grind from the opening tip-off. ZANDIDAA played with a lot of heart, matching Zamboanga City’s speed and making it difficult for the eventual champions to build a comfortable lead. For most of the game, the two sides were locked in a stalemate, with neither team willing to give an inch on the defensive end.
With the game on the line, Zamboanga City leaned on their composure and teamwork to break away. They locked down their defense, limiting ZANDIDAA to just 8 points in the fourth quarter while putting up 14 of their own to take full control of the match.
When the final whistle blew, Zamboanga City walked away with a 76-72 victory, officially completing their golden run in the secondary basketball category.
This win confirms Zamboanga City’s ticket to the Palarong Pambansa. After proving they are the best in the region, the team will now focus on representing Western Mindanao as they prepare to take on the top players from all over the country. (Photos by KJ Evardo, IsaTV)
