PROVINCE OF SULU DIVISION ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

The Province of Sulu Division Athletic Association marks a historic milestone as it makes its inaugural appearance in the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) Meet 2026, following its inclusion in Region IX last year.

Composed of 661 delegates, including 544 athletes and 117 officials, the Sulu delegation brings with it a strong sense of identity, pride, and purpose as it steps onto the regional stage for the first time.

Showing full provincial support, Governor Abdusakur “Toto” Tan II, together with 11 municipal mayors, stood firmly with the delegation as they made their entrance in the Isabela City Grandstand, bearing the name Sulu in this landmark participation.

Led by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Kharim Irilis, together with Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dolores Gonzalo, CID Chief Dr. Suaiba Suaib, SGOD Chief Dr. Joel Alamia, and Division Sports Officer Nabdar Alli, the delegation reflects a coordinated effort to develop and showcase athletic excellence among the youth of Sulu.

As they compete alongside the region’s best, the Sulu delegation carries not only skill and preparation, but also the pride of representing their province in this significant regional platform. (With Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
