ISABELA CITY BOYS SHOW GRIT IN THRILLING SEMIS WIN OVER ZANDIDAA

The Isabela City Secondary Boys Volleyball team pulled off a stunning reverse sweep against ZANDIDAA, 2–1, to punch their ticket to the championship round in a high-stakes semifinal showdown held at Bliss Covered Court, Lanote, on April 8.
The opening frame belonged to ZANDIDAA, who capitalized on aggressive attacks and seamless court coverage. Isabela City struggled to find their rhythm early on, eventually dropping the first set, 21–25. The loss put the Isabeleño spikers in a must-win situation, facing immense pressure from a confident ZANDIDAA side.
Refusing to let their finals dreams slip away, Isabela City entered the second set with renewed energy. The set was a point-for-point exchange, with neither team willing to blink. However, Isabela City’s persistence paid off in the final stretch, narrowly escaping with a 25–23 win to force a deciding third set.
The final set kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. Both teams traded heavy blows and displayed incredible floor defense, pushing the score beyond the usual limit.
In the end, Isabela City delivered the finishing blows to secure a 26–24 victory, effectively ending ZANDIDAA’s run. (Words by S. Angging, CIO/Photos by KJ Evardo, IsaTV)
