985-STRONG ZCDAA ‘VALIENTES’ ARRIVE IN ISABELA CITY FOR ZPRAA 2026

The Zamboanga City delegation arrived at Isabela City Port, April 4, bringing 615 athletes and 370 officials—985 delegates in total—for the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) Meet 2026, set from April 6 to 11 under the theme “Championing Unity and Peace Through Sports.”
The delegation was received at the port by city government officials led by Councilors Jeromy Jay Casas and James Abner Rodriguez, and IPMR Panglima Jamalul Habibun and the Schools Division Office of Isabela City Dr. Ma. Laarni Villanueva. Adding color to the arrival, the Drum and Lyre of Malamawi National High School welcomed the athletes at the port, a reception coordinated by Public School District Supervisor Myrna Sarapuddin, who led the efforts on the ground to ensure a warm welcome for the incoming delegation.
From the port, the group proceeded to Claret College of Isabela, where they will be billeted throughout the week-long meet.
The athletes had plenty to say about their first moments in the host city. “Maganda ang view,” one shared. For another, the focus was already on what lies ahead: “ZPRAA ready na talaga ang Zamboanga City.” (Words by Marjane Claire Arbolado, DepEd/Photos by M. Santos, CIO/ Contributed Photos)
