MAYOR DADAH, DEPED RD FIRMO VISIST ATHLETES’ QUARTERS AHEAD OF 2026 ZPRAA OPENING

Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman visited the billeting quarters of the Isabela City Division Athletic Association, April 5, in the lead-up to the opening of the 2026 Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) Meet, joining key education and local officials in checking on the welfare of delegates.
Accompanying the mayor were newly installed DepEd IX Regional Director Dr. Ronelio Al Firmo, Isabela City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ma. Laarni Villanueva, SDO-Isabela City Division Sports Coordinator Dr. Arnel Hajan, and Councilor Jeromy Jay Casas.
During the visit, Mayor Turabin-Hataman rallied the athletes to give their best in the upcoming competitions and to embody the values of an Isabeleño student-athlete –discipline, respect, and pride in representing the city.
They also made rounds at the billeting quarters of the Schools Division of Sulu, which is marking their first-ever participation in ZPRAA since joining Region IX in 2025. The group was welcomed by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Kiram Irilis.
The 2026 ZPRAA Meet, with the theme “Championing Unity and Peace Through Sports,” is slated to open on April 6 with 9 schools divisions in 7 contingents seeing action across 25 sporting events. (Words by M. Guerrero/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
