Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, headlined the Provincial Women’s Month Convention of Zamboanga Sibugay as guest of honor and speaker, joining Governor Dr. Dulce Anne Hofer and other women leaders and members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) from all sixteen municipalities of the province.
Held on March 25, the convention served as the province’s culminating activity for National Women’s Month Celebration, highlighting women’s achievements and strengthening advocacy for gender equality and inclusive development.
In her message, Mayor Turabin-Hataman underscored the importance of inclusive governance and the critical role of women in shaping resilient and progressive communities. She emphasized the need to sustain grassroots engagement and ensure that gender-responsive programs translate into tangible benefits for women at all levels.
The engagement also reflected the strengthened partnership between Isabela City and Zamboanga Sibugay in advancing women’s empowerment. In 2025, Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Ann K. Hofer visited Isabela City as keynote speaker during the Basilan Women Executive and Legislators (BWEL) Summit 2025, reinforcing collaboration among local government units on women-centered initiatives.
Anchored on this year’s theme, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” the convention highlighted the vital role of women’s organizations in grassroots development and nation-building. It also served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among women leaders to further strengthen gender-responsive policies and programs.
Provincial officials expressed appreciation for Mayor Hataman’s presence, noting that her leadership and advocacy inspired participants and further energized collective efforts to advance the rights, welfare, and meaningful participation of women across Zamboanga Sibugay.
