The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) headed by PESO Manager Aradelria Belleng, in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), conducted a two-day Financial Literacy and Digital Payment Learning session under the Paleng-QR Ph Plus Program.
The first day gathered market vendors, merchants, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to learn about digital financial services, safe digital transactions, and the benefits of cashless payments. Resource speakers from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and participating Financial Service Providers including GCash, Maya, PalawanPay, Metrobank, and Land Bank of the Philippines shared practical guidance on the use of digital payment platforms and QR Ph transactions.
The second day engaged tricycle drivers and operators, along with members of the Lampinigan Women Associations, introducing them to digital financial services and QR Ph payments and how these tools can support their daily livelihoods and community-based enterprises.
The initiative aims to empower various sectors to adopt digital financial platforms, promoting faster, safer, and more convenient transactions while expanding access to financial services within the community
