CITY GOV CELEBRATES FAITH AND ART IN ‘PAGLUKIS’ CALLIGRAPHY CONTEST

The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman and through the City Tourism Office, hosted the Paglukis: Art of Calligraphy Contest in celebration of the 2026 National Arts Month and the Holy Month of Ramadhan.
Thirteen talented participants showcased their skills in Islamic calligraphy, blending artistic expression with spiritual devotion. Each contestant presented unique interpretations of sacred texts and designs, highlighting the richness and beauty of Islamic art. The competition emphasized not only technical skill but also creativity, cultural appreciation, and the celebration of Filipino-Muslim heritage.
The City Government of Isabela continues to encourage initiatives that nurture artistic talent, promote cultural awareness, and foster community engagement during meaningful observances like Ramadhan. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
