WITH LGU SUPPORT, BNHS SENDS 118 DELEGATES TO NATIONAL, REGIONAL COMPETITIONS

Basilan National High School (BNHS) officially rallied its student-competitors during a high-spirited Send-Off Ceremony held on February 10 at the BNHS Gymnasium. The event formally sent off 118 delegates bound for the National Science Quest (NSQ) and the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).

Assistant Principal II Joel Saavedra opened the program, reminding the delegates that they carry not only personal ambitions but also the “banner of excellence” of BNHS as they compete on regional and national stages. He urged them to uphold confidence, discipline, and integrity.

Messages of encouragement were delivered by Dr. Mohner Latip, Atty. Gadzmin Salisa, and CIO Mendry-Ann Lim, underscoring the strong partnership between the school and the local community in supporting student achievement.

BNHS Officer-in-Charge Principal Dr. Arnel Hajan shared that financial assistance was extended by Basilan Governor Mujiv Hataman, Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, and Board Member Ahmed Ibn Djaliv to support the delegates’ participation, reflecting local leaders’ commitment to advancing education. Also present were BNHS Principal and Education Supervisor in MAPEH, Assistant Principal II Joel Saavedra, and Dr. Wilfreda Pilar Eisma, Senior High School Assistant Principal for Academics.

Selected RSPC participants will undergo a one-week immersion at ISATV for hands-on training in broadcasting and media production. ISATV representatives attended the ceremony to promote their programs and inspire aspiring journalists and broadcasters.
