The City Government of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme under the EU–Philippines Green Economy Partnership, successfully conducted the Circular Economy Investment Mapping and Coaching sessions on January 13 to 14, at the Sakayan Conference Room.
The activity formed part of the city’s ongoing efforts to advance its circular economy and sustainable development agenda by strengthening local capacities in planning, investment identification, and program development. It served as a key preparatory activity for the Isabela City Local Inception Workshop scheduled on January 21 to 22.
The sessions focused on enhancing the capacity of the Local Circular Economy Action Team in shaping the city’s Circular Economy Portfolio through the identification of priority circular economy investments and initiatives. These outputs are expected to guide Isabela City’s transition toward a more sustainable, resource-efficient, and climate-resilient local economy.
DILG FOU CLGOO Arnel Alvarez, Nagdilaab Foundation, Inc., led by its Executive Director Miriam Suacito, CPDC Gay Palagtiosa, CENRM Officer Albino Orbecido, and representatives from the CGSO, CTO, CAgO, CSWDO, CIO, and LEDIPO actively participated in the two-day activity, contributing to discussions, technical exercises, and coaching sessions facilitated under the UNDP partnership. The collaborative approach strengthened inter-agency coordination and aligned local strategies with national and international sustainability frameworks.
Through continued engagement with development partners such as UNDP, the City Government of Isabela reaffirms its commitment to promoting green growth, circular economy practices, and long-term environmental sustainability for the benefit of its constituents.
