LGU-DEPDEV PARTNER FOR ISABELA CITY LEG OF ‘TRABAHO PARA SA BAYAN’ PLAN ROADSHOW

The City Government of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, together with the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) and the Regional Development Council IX, conducted the Isabela City Roadshow and Action Planning for the Trabaho Para sa Bayan (TPB) Plan 2025–2034, December 11.
The activity formed part of the nationwide rollout of the TPB Plan, the country’s long-term employment and livelihood framework aimed at reducing unemployment, addressing labor market gaps, and promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
City personnel, national agency representatives, and key sector stakeholders gathered to discuss strategies for localizing the TPB Plan’s priorities, aligning city programs with national employment goals, and identifying actionable interventions to strengthen the labor market in Isabela City.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman represented by City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, expressed the city’s commitment to strengthening workforce development and ensuring that employment and livelihood opportunities remain accessible to all sectors.
Throughout the day, representatives from DEPDev facilitated a series of sessions and workshops focusing on the city’s labor market situation, TPB priority programs, sectoral issues, and future-proofing strategies. Participants were also guided through localized planning workshops designed to develop city-level initiatives in support of the TPB Plan.
The program included sessions on labor market trends, emerging economic opportunities, and key employment strategies for the city and region. Participants worked in groups to identify priority interventions for workforce development, livelihood generation, and economic resilience.
The event concluded with the presentation of workshop outputs, outlining initial plans and recommendations that will support Isabela City’s contribution to the TPB Plan’s long-term employment and economic vision.
The action planning activity reinforces the city government’s commitment to building a more competitive, skilled, and future-ready workforce—one equipped to participate in a fast-evolving national and global economy. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
